On the banks of river Minho, A Chavasqueira thermal baths reproduce a traditional Japanese bathhouse, an onsen. It is a facility for enjoying the water in a calm and Zen-inspired environment, with a thoughtful architecture of wood and stone. Its recreational thermal circuit is organized in:
- Rotenburo: a combination of three thermal outdoors pools in stone with water at 41º C
- Ofuro: an indoor bath in stone at 39° C
- Templarium: a Zen sauna in stone and slate at 40° C and 70% humidity
- Sudarium: a Japanese sauna in stone and wood at 45° C and 85% humidity
Visitors can complete the bath with a massage or one of the beauty treatments on offer.
Two springs at 60º and 61º C feed these facilities, whose water has medium mineralization with bicarbonates, sodium, fluoride, lithium and sulphur.
